How quickly can I get an appointment?

Dr. Ruth Solomon founded AprilMD with a clear vision: create the practice she always wished her own family could access. Too many patients — especially working adults and families — were falling through the cracks of a system built around profits, not care.
AprilMD is named after her mother, Rosetta Solomon, in honor of the month of her birth. Rosetta shaped how Dr. Solomon sees medicine and what every patient deserves from their physician: tenderness, respect, presence, and care that feels personal.
Before founding AprilMD, Dr. Solomon trained in Family Medicine with a focus on whole-person primary care, chronic disease management, and preventive health. She has spent her career pursuing one clear standard: medicine that feels personal, respectful, and deeply human.

Do I still need health insurance?

Can I use HSA funds for my DPC membership?

Yes. As of January 1, 2026, HSA funds can be used to pay DPC membership fees. Current limits are up to $150/month for individuals and $300/month for families. For some health insurance plans, those fees may also be applied to your deductible. Please speak with your financial advisor and your plan representative to confirm how this applies to you. Do you offer virtual visits?

Absolutely. Both in-office and virtual visits are fully included in your membership. Virtual visits are convenient for follow-ups, prescription refills, and many acute issues that don’t require an in-person evaluation.
Are labs included?

Under N.Y. Public Health Law 586 and 238, no medical entities are allowed to engage in “pass through billing.” This means that every patient must be directly billed by whatever entity is providing the service. We work with major laboratories and local pharmacies to help patients understand out-of-pocket costs before they leave the appointment, and we help eligible patients explore state programs for free or low-cost care.
